Positive Material Identification

This standard defines the minimum mandatory requirements for positive material identification (PMI) of pressure-retaining alloy material components, flange bolting, welds, weld overlays and cladding. It is intended to ensure that the nominal composition of the alloy components and associated welds have been correctly supplied and installed as specified. Where applicable, this entire standard shall be attached to
and made a part of purchase orders.
