Pakistan Moving to the amber List

Good News for United Kingdom‘s overseas Pakistanis’ and those who were planning to visit United Kingdom (UK). Pakistan will be removed from the red list from next week and will be moving to the amber list 4am, Wednesday 22 September. It is very good news for the travelers who were stuck in Pakistan and were unable to travel to United Kingdom due to Red list rules. Now they will be able to travel back to the UK without paying extra charges for Hotel quarantine.

Rules for travelers of Amber list countries

Before you travel to England you must:

  • take a COVID-19 test with in the 3 days before you travel to England
  • book and pay online for COVID-19 tests to be taken after arrival in England
  • You must also complete a passenger locator form on https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
  • You must do these things whether you are fully vaccinated or not

When you arrive in England

If you are fully vaccinated

After when you arrive in England you must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2. (Day 0 is the day when you will land in UK)

This applies if you’re fully vaccinated under either:

  • The UK vaccination programme
  • The UK vaccine programme overseas
  • An approved vaccination programme in Europe or the USA – not all are recognised in England
