Writing a Statement of Purpose for college/university is a big headache. Particularly in the situation when the last date of the application is near and you are struggling to get together the words to produce a unique, motivated, and encouraging ‘Statement of Purpose’.

Believe or not! basically writing a Statement of Purpose is a simple task. You can actually produce a very powerful ‘Statement of Purpose’ if you follow few basic writing techniques.

• Write in small basic sentences
• Do not repeat information in your writing
• Be specific to the information
• Write formal and focus on conversational writing
• Only provide relevant information

Start your writing with a strong and engaging paragraph. Tell about yourself, a basic background of your past. Be yourself when you are writing.

Give a brief detail about your educational background. What you have already studied and how the selected course is related to your previous course either a school level or at higher level.

You must also have knowledge about your course that you are applying for. Talk about the modules you are going to study with the university or college and their scope in the current market and in future.

If you have any work experience, related to the selected course, you can also provide some of it details like your role during the job, work experience, knowledge you have gained, new techniques you have gained, or any unique ideas that you cannot execute because you need more study to implement.

Write few lines about the institute/ university you have selected. Write about their popularity and specialty in the specific fields. Also tell about the professional experience you have with them during the admission process.

Define your goals after completion the course. That’s how the selected course will brighten your career and give you a better opportunity in the real world. How you can emerge new ideas in your field successfully.

In the closing lines, explain your emotions and level of confident that you will be selected to the applied course. Express your feeling in a requested way that it touches the emotions of the reader and course worker feel confident to take you on board.

Closing paragraph [Explain your level of confident to be selected, e.g. I believe I am a well prepared candidate to take on to this course …………………………………]
